Family Update

August was a busy month. The children are back to school. They are excited to be back to their usual routine. Waturi and I celebrated 12 years of marriage. We are so grateful for God’s faithfulness. CLA/NLC Joint Camp: Sunday 4th-25th August 2024

We are halfway through season 11 of the premarital class. The Sunday sessions have been full of life. The class is very vibrant. The feedback has been great. This is our final class for 2024.

CLA/NLC Joint Camp: Sunday 4th August 2024

I traveled to Kigali, Rwanda for a joint youth camp between Christian Life Assembly (CLA) and New Life Church (NLC). The two churches brought more than 300 teenagers from Rwanda for a one week camp retreat outside the city of Kigali. We werehosted by Blue Lakes International School in Nyamata. The theme of the camp was Awakening, borrowed from Ephesians 5:14 “This is why it is said: Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (NIV‬‬). On the first day of the camp, I laid the foundation for the camp by explaining how the wisdom of God in Christ Jesus differs greatly from the wisdom of the world. We started the camp on a good note.

CLA/NLC Joint Camp: Monday 5th August 2024

On the second day of the camp, the sub-theme was Imago Dei- being made into sons of God through the cross of Jesus. On this day, I shared the gospel with the teenagers. Nine girls have their lives to Christ. One boy rededicated his life to Jesus.

CLA/NLC Joint Camp: Tuesday 6th August 2024

On this day the sub-theme of the camp was Dirty Deeds- dealing with our sinful desire. We looked at how sin takes a hold of us as eljevrs and how we can be free. We also looked at areas of our lives that makes us more susceptible to sin. One of the areas was woudnedness. When I taught this it triggered many emotions and tears in the teenagers. We ended up having an extended time of healing and restoration. I ministered to the boys in the afternoon on offloading parental pain and living free. I ministered to the girls in the evening around a bonfire on the same matter.

CLA/NLC Joint Camp: Wednesday 7th August 2024

On this day, the sub-theme was Refocus. We looked at the importance of having an intimate walk with God through His word.

CLA/NLC Joint Camp: Thursday 8th August 2024

On this day, the sub-theme was Reflection. I taught the teenagers on how to mirror the character of God in our daily Christian life.

CLA/NLC Joint Camp: Friday 9th August 2024

The final sub-theme was Redirection. On this final day, we looked at practical steps to employ after leaving camp recharged and rejuvenated. The camp ended the next day. I received lots of warm feedback from the campers. I flew back to Nairobi on Sunday 11th August 2024.

Talanta Ministries Machakos: Wednesday 14th August 2024

Talanta Ministries in Machakos invited me to minister to their teenagers for three days. On the first day, the topic was Alternative Spirituality. I taught the teenagers from Ephesians 6:12-18. We looked at the dichotomy of the spiritual world. We looked at the origin of the devil and the origin of demons. We looked at how the believer is called to stand firm and overcome the wiles of Satan in a world broken by sin.

Talanta Ministries Machakos: Thursday 15th August 2024

On day two, I focused on healing and forgiveness. We had a very emotional time with the teenagers. Several of them came forward to release pain and bitterness that they had harbored from friends and family. The session was very therapeutic. The numbers of young people was higher than the previous day.

Talanta Ministries Machakos: Friday 16th August 2024

On the third day, the numbers were at all-time high. Luckily, the hall was enough to hold us all. On this day, I taught on sexual purity. It was a great day. The feedback from the teenagers and facilitators was very good.

One Tribe Church: Saturday 17th August 2024

One Tribe Church was hosting a singles event for their youth at Phoenicia Hotel in Kiambu Road. The event attracted about 30 singles. We had a great interactive time exploring on the aspects to look at keenly while choosing a life partner.

CITAM Parklands: Thursday 22nd August 2024

Deliverance for J: Saturday 24th August 2024

A young woman by the name J came for inner healing and restoration. J was dealing with bouts of depression and the trauma of being raped twice. We took her through the forgives section. She was overwhelmed but committed to the process. She felt a heavy burden lift when she forgave her offenders. She took a long nap after the session from exhaustion.

Deliverance for N: Saturday 24th August 2024

A young lady by the name N came for inner healing  and restoration. This was her third session. We dealt with ungodly beliefs about God. We searched the scriptures and addressed several lies that N had believed about the character of God. She has committed to more personal Bible study to help her in her knowledge of the truth.

Nairobi Chapel Ngong Road: Sunday 25th August 2024

Deliverance for J: Wednesday 28th August 2024

A woman by the name J came for inner healing and restoration. J was battling unforgiveness and a defeatist mindset from faulty beliefs. She was strong enough to cover several sections of the assignment. Once we were done, she confessed feeling unburdened and light. It was a good session.

Speaking at Alpha Bible Study: Friday 30th August 2024

I was invited by Terry Kamata to speak to the teenagers in her Alpha home Bible Study. I spoke on the subject of sexual purity. Waturi accompanied me. We had dinner with the teenagers and took them through 1 Thessalonians 4:1-5. We had a time of Q and A at the end.
