MINISTRY REPORT: MAY 2026
Family Update

The children are back to school for the second term of 2026. They have a few school trips coming up and they are excited. May has been slower. We have liked it, especially since we came from a very busy month. We are entering the last month towards the halfway period of 2026. We are reflecting a lot. The state of the country is devastating. We are frustrated by the corruption, deaths, kidnappings of children and the arson at Utumishi Secondary School that left 16 girls dead. Our nation is at a precipice and we are praying that there is a nationwide resolve to redeem it.
CITAM Thika Town Marriage Retreat: 1st to 3rd May 2026
Waturi and I ministered to couples from Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM) Thika Town at Lake Naivasha Resort. The three-day retreat was very refreshing. We tackled emotional intimacy by looking at Genesis 2:23-25. The retreat drew 50 couples from the church. Here are our responses in the Q and A sessions after the retreat.

Testimony
Dear Ernest and Waturi, Thank you so much for ministering to us during the couples retreat that was concluded this morning. Your openness and vulnerability created a safe and authentic space that allowed many to reflect deeply and honestly on their own journeys. Beyond the richness of your teaching, it was your lived experiences—shared so graciously—that left the deepest imprint. The practical insights on the power of the choices we make, especially regarding the people we surround ourselves with, were both timely and transformative. Your real-life examples spoke louder than theory ever could. We were particularly touched by the simplicity and intentionality of everyday actions—like making time for your spouse, even in the midst of competing commitments, and the thoughtful gestures that communicate care and priority. These moments reminded us that strong marriages are built not just on big decisions, but on consistent, small acts of love and consideration. Thank you for pouring into us with such sincerity and wisdom. Your impact will continue to bear fruit in the lives and homes of many couples. With deep appreciation and gratitude, Kobuthi.
Hi Waturi, just wanted to say hello and that I attended the Logos Festival yesterday at church. It was amazing. I know sometimes when you are in the thick of thinking logistics and finances and etc you might not see it, but what you and Ernest are doing is powerful. My 5-year-old is reciting the commandments because of yesterday. I myself realized I really haven’t been reading the Old Testament and that has to change, it is just as important as the new testament.(Because explain to me how people knew there were other queens in the Bible other than Jezebel and Esther? I was so blank! And the goats on the Ark? Ah!) Hiyo mambo ya memorizing I will probably need to restart the Omega supplements, but challenge accepted. God bless you guys. Keep on keeping on no matter what. I will be praying for you.
Hi Ernest, it was nice bumping into you after the event. Immediately after the festival, what stood out was how fun and well planned it was. Today, that has passed and all I can think about is how passionately each activity and presentation seemed to shout “Do you know this Word? Are you seeking this God who has revealed himself to us?!” The memory verses from your kids and yourself were a reminder that we can (I can!) do so much more to engage with the God and his word. Thank you!
