She was carrying a load of guilt, shame and regret from things she had done. K was also struggling to accept the forgiveness of Christ. We walked her through the truths of the Gospel and she began to see the light. K was also struggling with bitterness from betrayal and sexual abuse. She forgave her offenders and trusted God to avenge her. She left the session admitting that she felt lighter.

The Christian Union at Kabete National Polytechnic invited me to minister to their congregation on the subject of healthy relationships with the opposite sex. We studied the life of Adam and Eve from Genesis 2:15-25. Most members were on break so the service was intimate. God spoke clearly and the church was blessed by the message. I got to give the church feedback on excellence in service. Despite the warm welcome I received from them, the overall service quality was mediocre. The worship team went off-key on several occasions. The microphones were screaming frequently. The moderator of the service was not emotionally intelligent. The presentations were done haphazardly and without good coordination, and the time management was very poor. The CU officials thanked me for helping them improve. They also admitted that they had never had someone give them such candid feedback despite some of the problems being axiomatic. They were very grateful. I shared the feedback with grace and humour, and they received it with an open heart.

We had to take a short break in between the session, because she was overwhelmed and very tired. She took an one-hour power nap, had lunch and we continued. She wrote to me after a few days in awe of what the session had done for her. She said she had been in an aura of God’s presence since she left my office. She was feeling like a brand-new person.

Overall

It was a very busy month. God’s grace has been sufficient. I have seen the need to rest in order to be effective for the work of ministry. I am wiser as I approach the new month of March.

MINISTRY UPDATES

We have innovated a new board game. We are calling it “Logos: The Ultimate Bible Board Game.” Logos is an idea that started in 2017. Over the years, while doing youth ministry, we noticed a few gaps in the mission field. From a general observation, biblical illiteracy seemed to be on a steady increase, especially among urban youth and teens. Some had access to the scriptures but struggled to draw out their power for everyday living.

Our time in the mission field has proven this fundamental truth to be solid- that intimacy with the scriptures is a vital weapon in a believer”s struggle against sin and pursuit of righteousness. We have given the people we have ministered to statistics on the benefit of scripture consumption and even taught them how to do a personal quiet time. But nothing has driven the point home like the charades game on the Bible that we started giving in 2017.

With time, I developed the game into something more challenging that would spur individuals to know their Bible better and have competitive fun at the same time. I borrowed a few ideas from some popular board games we know and made our own unique version. After several test groups and feedback notes, we finally came up with LOGOS. Logos is a Greek Word that means God”s divine revelation.

We have a board, a maximum of five teams, a timer and an explosion of fun that will make you want to really rev your Bible knowledge engines. It is a great resource for family devotions, hangouts with friends, holiday plans, church retreats, youth camps, and game nights. Logos is available for 4900 KES. You can get your game by sending 4900 to Mpesa Paybill Number: 204 634 Account: Logos (It will read THE RELATIONSHIP CTR).
